How Do I Qualify for Interchange Optimization Using the Additional Fields in Process Transaction?

When processing a transaction in CardSmart, entering complete and accurate transaction information can help eligible transactions qualify for interchange optimization. Interchange optimization may reduce payment processing costs by ensuring transactions meet the card brands' processing requirements.

In addition to the required payment information, complete the available fields whenever applicable, including:

  • AVS Street Address
  • AVS ZIP Code
  • Invoice Number
  • Purchase Order (PO) Number
  • Product Name
  • SKU
  • Quantity
  • Cost

Providing this information can improve transaction data quality and may help certain business, commercial, or purchasing card transactions qualify for more favorable interchange rates.

Other fields, such as the Name on Card, Description, and Customer Profile information, are valuable for recordkeeping and customer management but do not typically affect interchange qualification.

Entering as much applicable transaction information as possible not only helps optimize eligible transactions but also improves reporting, recordkeeping, and transaction accuracy.
